Criminals attack when the situation favors them, combining a clear purpose of action with surprise and superior numbers. Prevailing against such a threat requires first shifting the balance back into our favor. For most of us, the common pocket knife is the standard every day carry tool. Turning this utilitarian tool towards a defensive application can make the difference between winning and losing against criminal assault.
In Practical Small Knife Skills 1, instructor Chris Fry from Modern Defensive Training Systems will give students the tools and techniques they need to successfully utilize their small knives against assault. Through accessible coursework and force on force scenarios, students will leave with the ability to properly access, deploy and manipulate their knives under the stress of a close range confrontation. This course is open to all skill levels, regardless of prior experience.
STUDENTS WILL GAIN INSTRUCTION IN:
Justifiable Use of Force
The Knife for Personal Protection
Knife Selection: Folder vs. Fixed Blade
