The MDTS Practical Shotgun Skills class is designed for anyone interested in personal protection with a shotgun. Through a combination of lecture, discussion, dry-fire and live fire drills students will develop familiarization and proficiency with their personal shotgun. This class is ideal for home defense with your smoothbore. It is set up for the Remington 870, 1100, 1187 and Mossberg 500 and 590 platforms but other platforms can and have been used in this class effectively.

- Verbal Commands
- Shooting Response Theory
- Proactive Movement
- After Action Assessment
- Emergency & Tactical Loading
- Slug Select Drill
- Fundamental Use of Cover & Concealment

- A serviceable shotgun
- 250 Bird shot
- 25 00Buck Shot
- 15 Slug
- Eye and Ear protection
- appropriate clothing for weather

Optional equipment:

* A pistol is not required to attend this course.

- Weapon mounted illumination tool

- lunch for a full day class
* If a shotgun is not available one may be rented for $35/course.
