The MDTS Practical concealed carry skills course presents the necessary and practical mindset, equipment, knowledge and skills for the concealed carry license holder. The students understanding of when they can and cannot legally utilize a firearm to protect themselves or others and the ability to present and fire the concealed firearm effectively, when justified, will be the primary focus points of this course. Attendees will also gain a thorough understanding of firearm safety and the legalities involved with carrying a concealed handgun. Note – Pistol licensing programs do not teach methods of carry or deployment from concealment nor do many law enforcement departments; this class is recommended for the legally licensed citizen, off-duty law enforcement officer or undercover law enforcement officer.
Course content will include but is not limited to:
Essentials of Firearm Safety – Ownership, Carry & Storage
The Personal Protection Mindset
Legal Considerations – N.Y.S. Article 35, Use of Force, Where You Can and Cannot Carry and more..
Concealed Carry Methodologies, Equipment & Support Gear
Threat Recognition & Management
Fundamentals of Marksmanship & Surgical Speed Shooting
Concealed Carry Draw-Stroke Development
Critical Thinking & Decision Making

Post Altercation Considerations & Tactics – Contacting and Speaking to Authorities
In addition, students will shoot and be graded upon (3) state qualification courses of fire:
