HANDGUN SELECTION: I talk a lot with new pistol license recipients and discuss their first handgun & support gear selection/purchase. I recommend the following elements to consider when purchasing: *Ergonomics – it should fit your hand and you should be able to operate all parts such as the safety, de-cocker and slide release with strong and support hand only. *Body Type – you need to be able to conceal it comfortably congruent with your daily dress style and not have to go buy a whole new wardrobe to conceal it. *Reliability – spend a little more and buy a brand that's proven to be reliable. *Ammunition – more is better, 10 is better than 5 or 7, no matter the caliber. *Others – I believe it's important, especially if you live with others or have a family, that if a handgun which is bought with personal protection in mind, even slightly, it should easy to operate by everyone in the household/family. Are there others in your life who you may have to depend upon to run that gun when you cannot? The new gun buyer needs to consider all of these elements for themselves and not base decisions on what a gun store owner, significant other or instructor "likes". It's an extremely personal process, choosing something you may carry daily to protect your life and the lives of others. #mdts #training #handgun #pistol #handgunselection @smithwessoncorp @glockinc @waltherarms @springfield_inc #glock @ravenconcealment #keepersconcealment @bladerigs #crossbreed #comp-tac #remora #garritygunleather #eidolon #G42
