Dan Vaillancourt
Dan Vaillancourt – Assitant Instructor, Private Training, RSO
Dan comes to MDTS from a competition background which started 25+ years ago. He’s participated in a full spectrum of events in this time. From NRA Bulls-eye pistol, rim fire and center-fire rifle, long range rifle, trap shooting, NRA Action Pistol and the type of competition he enjoys the most: USPSA and IDPA action shooting in pistol, rifle and 3 gun events.
He holds 3 Master classifications in IDPA : Stock Service Pistol, Custom Defensive Pistol, and Enhanced Service Pistol. These 3 classifications are a reflection of Dan’s current mindset about training with MDTS: No use for gaming hardware, just actual tools you would carry and training with them in the closest approximation to reality possible. Whether it is an IDPA match or rolling around on the ground with an opponent engaged in a force-on-force evolution in a class.
Dan is an NRA Instructor in Pistol and is a NRA certified Range Safety Officer. He has held the position of Chief Range Instructor for his local home club, as a Range Officer with the National Range Officer Institute of USPSA, and as a Safety Officer for IDPA. Dan is also one of a select few who has attended every class MDTS offers.
Dan holds an A.A.S. in Environmental Conservation. He is currently a NYS Correction Officer with 18 years experience.
