MDTS Concealed Carry Principles

21st CENTURY SAFETY: Pro-gun or anti-gun we ALL want to be safe here in the US. What can WE do to be safer and better prepared for ongoing terrorist threats and active killers? Some considerations: 1) Acknowledge- time to sit down with family members, young and old, democrat and republican and have a serious, truthful talk about current state of affairs. Stop coddling children, stop worrying about being PC, offending or hurting feelings. Get them to acknowledge what's going on: We are a target of Muslim extremists & crazies. Admit it, accept it, get over it and get to work. 2) Avoid- "Gun Free Zones & "No Guns Allowed" areas. These "zones" are NOT safe and are in fact prime targets. If you can't avoid then maintain high levels of awareness especially when in large groups 3) Public Spaces -Terrorists and active killers want body counts like in Orlando. This validates them in their own minds and in the minds of other extremists and crazies. Be more alert, sit, stand or hang out on the periphery of groups. Try to be near an exit but not next to it. These killers may enter there and start shoot anyone in close proximity. Don't be paranoid, don't stop living life, just be as ready as possible. 4) Avoid Task Fixation – don't fixate on a task or phone for extended periods. Be present. 5) The "Designated Watcher" – designated drivers have reduced drunk driving incidents. It's time to consider at least one designated "watcher". A person who doesn't drink, stays off their phone, pays attention to environment and people in it. Believe me, you can still enjoy yourself and have fun. 6) Education- get some training in firearms. Know how they work, how to recognize when empty or malfunctioned and how to operate it in worst case scenario. Learn what will stop a bullet, learn self defense, learn medical aid. If you can carry a gun, carry it. If it happens to you: escape, barricade and/or FIGHT with anything and everything. This problem isn't going away. Choose to live life educated and ready in case it happens or rely on "signs", "zones", police who are minutes away or inept politicians to keep you safe. Consider, decide, act. #MDTS #training #safety #awareness #picoftheday
